Make up post

I recently read a article on the criminal justice system. The United States has the highest reported incarceration rate in the world, more than 1 in 100 adults are in jail. The incarceration rate is rising faster that the crime rate, which is hard to believe. The high incarceration rate is blamed upon the three strikes rule. I believe that we do need to take a long look at our justice system, that we are keeping people in jail for minor offences that we would be able to solve with community service or a lesser punishment. I think this would cut down on the cost on the individual state cost. The article is found athttp://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/opinion/30monl.html
